Indianapolis, Indiana or "Indy" - Including the Indianapolis Motor Speedway & Hall of Fame Museum, 3 Days, 2 Nights

Day 1: Your hosts will greet you at a selected point of arrival before we head down to the Emerald Forest Region of Southern Indiana, approximately 1 hour south of Indianapolis.

Along the way we'll stop by the world renowned and award winning Oliver Winery's Creekbend Vineyard. Situated on a ridge overlooking the Beanblossom Valley, you will take in the magnificent view while enjoying the fruits of the Oliver family's labor and tour their modern facilities that still maintain an old world quality.

Enjoy an early dinner with your crew & pilot at the historic 1880's Irish Lion Restaurant. Voted for many years as one of Indiana's Favorite and Best Restaurants, the Indiana University Experience says, "Their authentic Irish cuisine has a legion of loyal fans." http://www.irishlion.com

After dinner we will prepare for your first hot air balloon flight, launching in time to view a glorious sunset over the rolling hills of Monroe County's National Forest. Depending on which way the wind blows, you may even be able to see the Oliver Winery Vineyards from above.

We will end this and each of our flights with the traditional balloonists champagne toast. This has been a tradition among balloon pilots and their passengers for 224 years, since the Montgolfier Brothers made the first hot air balloon trip in 1783.

After the flight, we take a beautiful drive to the Story Inn, your accommodations for the evening, through covered bridges, past weather-beaten barns, log cabins and clapboard churches and some of the finest foliage the Hoosier state has to offer. The Story Inn, Indiana's oldest country Inn, is charming, historic, musical, magical and some say haunted! www.storyinn.com

Day 2: Welcome to the breakfast table at the Story Inn! Here you will appreciate real food made the old fashioned country way - from scratch.

After breakfast you will have time for a leisurely stroll through Nashville, Indiana, famous for its artist colony, crafts, furniture shops, curio and antique shops. This is a well-known shopping district to people across the Midwest.

On our way back towards Indianapolis, we will make a stop in Columbus, Indiana. This community has received numerous awards for some of the finest architecture in the world.

We then head to the quaint town of Zionsville. This is one of the few towns in the United States that has preserved its brick main street and all of the charm that came with that heritage. Here, upscale and uniquely fashionable shops line the fabled brick streets. Nestled among the shops are fine restaurants and cafes. http://www.zionsville.net

Dinner will be at the Villaggio Ristorante & Bar or BRiX and will be enjoyed before or after your sunset balloon flight, depending on the time of year.

The Villaggio Ristorante & Bar, Zionsville's premiere Italian restaurant, showcases the talent of Executive Chef, Emilio Cento.

Depending on the time of day and the pace you want to keep, we might suggest the BRiX Restaurant as an alternative. BRiX offers savory seasonal dishes with a focus on local products. Everything at BRiX is made from scratch and made to order

Overnight accommodations will be at the Brick Street Inn. This magnificently restored and renovated Inn honors its 1865 heritage and offers event facilities, a café and luxury boutique. http://www.brickstreetinn.com

Day 3: The Brick Street Inn will have a quick breakfast ready as we will start the day off with an early morning sunrise balloon flight over picturesque Hamilton County. Our day begins at dawn when the winds are calm and stable. Experience the magic and tranquility of an airborne adventure over beautiful farmlands and picturesque, tree-lined lakes.

After our flight, we will visit famous The Indianapolis Motor Speedway & the Hall of Fame Museum. It is recognized as one of the most highly viewable museums in the world devoted to automobiles and auto racing. In 1987, the museum and speedway grounds were honored with the designation of a National Historic Landmark. We will even take a bus tour around the 2.5 mile track and enjoy a delicious lunch at the Speedway's famed Brickyard Inn.

A little known fact - The first race held at the motor speedway was not a car race. It was a balloon race in 1909.

The next stop is the Indianapolis Museum of Art, which is among the largest and oldest general art museums in the United States. Founded in 1883, the Museum now boasts a permanent collection of more than 50,000 works of art.

After a very busy day, our hosts take you to your point of departure.

Day 4: This is a good day to sleep in and have a great Brick Street Inn breakfast at your leisure.

After checking out of the Inn, we'll head for Conner Prairie, a living history museum in Fishers, Indiana. This museum preserves the historic Conner farm and recreates part of life in Indiana in the 19th century on the White River. It is said to be the second most realistic living history museum in the United States, second only to Williamsburg. www.connerpriaire.org

We will have lunch on the prairie before heading to downtown INDY!

Welcome to Indianapolis and the Canterbury Hotel. This is the city's most elegant jewel reflecting the charm and historical quality of Canterbury, England. www.canterburyhotel.com/

An antique horse-drawn carriage will be waiting to take you at a casual pace through the streets of downtown Indy. Your tuxedoed driver will point out all the highlights.

A relaxing sunset balloon flight will give you a birds-eye view of the Indy skyline.

You will have a choice of fine Indy night spots for dinner after your flight and before heading back to the Canterbury Hotel.

Day 5: If we missed our sunset flight the night before, then we will instead see the Indy skyline as the sun rises.

You will have the day to tour the sites of downtown Indianapolis. The list of sites is long, but we will make sure you have it in advance so you can choose the sites that interest you. Or, maybe you'd prefer a day on your own to relax, shop, dine or do whatever you'd like.

Dinner - We will go over a list of famous downtown spots and see what tickles your fancy. Your choice!

Overnight at the Canterbury.

Day 6: Our last day will begin with a sunrise flight or breakfast at the Canterbury, depending on weather and preferences.
