These hot air balloon rides are conducted about 6 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip, between the strip and the mountains to the west of town. You will drift in the hot air balloons over residential areas, or perhaps a golf course. When the hot air balloon ride is over, you will usually land in the outskirts of town in the open space of the undeveloped desert. These balloon rides often go high enough to see Lake Mead in the distance off to the east.
